A reliable source once told me much of what Omar Archer says is based on the truth. Were in BIG trouble people. However, while it seems as if little has been done as promised, our Social Services are seeing more and more claims on a daily basis and funds must be provided. UR2 requires financial support even if volunteers are offering assistance. The constant influx of illegal immigrants only makes matters worse. Certain elements here (pushing liberal socialist ideology) propose changing our constitution with a view to creating an open border policy for immigrants rather than making it harder to gain status. Regardless of education and status, only Bahamians (by virtue of birth) resident in this country for MOST of their lives with Bahamian parents should be permitted to recommend changes to The Bahamas Constitution. (This is not Europe.) Also, government must stop being aggressive toward persons questioning their motives or integrity) and provide the appropriate paperwork showing expenditure on these organizations designed to assist the impoverished. Without an FOIA and other legislation forcing them to be accountable they lose credibility and give credence to political activists and opponents who may have reliable deep throat contacts. In life there will always be people (with a conscience) with limits on what theyre prepared to support.
