A reminder that each Wednesday morning (8:30 am CST), denominational Center staff members gather for a time of Intercessory Prayer. We include prayers on behalf of those who share their joys and concerns. Please feel free to communicate your joys and concerns that youd like lifted up. Todays prayer led by Jinger Ellis: CENTER INTERCESSORY PRAYER SHARING OF JOYS AND CONCERNS LITANY OF INTERCESSION O God the Father, creator of heaven and earth, Have mercy on us and hear our prayers. O God the Son, redeemer of the world, Have mercy on us and hear our prayers. O God the Holy Spirit, advocate and guide, Have mercy on us and hear our prayers. In the aftermath of the tragic typhoon in the Philippines, we pray for the Jang family, members of our Cumberland Presbyterian missions there, and for all who have suffered in this catastrophe. Lord, hear our prayer for the people of the Philippines. Govern, guide and equip your church, O God, to be a more faithful expression of your love, mercy, justice and hope in the world. Lord, hear our prayer for the Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and for all our sisters and brothers in Christ of other Churches. Encourage your servants who step out to declare the Good News of Christ in witness, word and deed. Lord, hear our prayer for those who share their faith in Christ with others. Among the nations, may your justice roll down like waters and righteousness as an ever-flowing stream. Lord, hear our prayer for the nations, especially where there is discord, or deprivation. Thinking of those we have mentioned as having special needs in their lives today, may they know the healing and peace that comes only from you. Lord, hear our prayers for the sick and bereaved, and for those with other serious concerns today. With grateful hearts for the joys noted today, Lord, hear our prayers of rejoicing and praise. Forgive us, O God, where we fail you and one another, and set us again on the path of abundant life in Christ. Lord Jesus Christ, teach us to pray: Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
