Dear Mr. Caye, Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about our justice system and the rights guaranteed to American citizens. Like you, I cherish the liberties granted to us in our Constitution and I will continue to fight to protect and defend it and the values for which it stands. The American Justice System, which encompasses courts and law-enforcement agencies on the Federal, State and Municipal levels, is responsible for both public safety and preserving the rights of Americans that are enshrined in our Constitution. As a member of the U.S. Senate and former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives, I have always supported legislation and policies that both promote public safety and respect individual privacy and Constitutional rights.
