A single mom is not someone to look down upon Holding it down and keeping it together makes her strong Playing mommy, daddy, doctor, teacher, and friend In your eyes it looks like her life came to an end Remember that she didnt choose to face this situation alone And she will do whatever she can for her family and home She spends many nights crying, wondering where her Next dollar will come from But when the babies awake she has a smile on her face For their games and fun She locks her feelings up down deep in her soul And she prays that her pain is one her children will never know Some days she isnt sure where her strength comes from And she wonders how she will make it as a single mom Just like any other woman her heart desires the love of a man And she promises herself shell look for that love just as soon as she can As time moves on and day turns into night She begins to question weather she is doing things right She gets down on her knees and prays for strength to carry on For she knows that her babies only have her to rely on All of her own wants and needs are pushed to the side And she takes care of her children with such great pride Though she looks happy she suffers more than you will ever know But those are the feelings that she will never ever show So before you go looking at her with shame and disgrace Do you really think you have what is needed to take her place Could you give up your world at the drop of a dime Put on a fake smile and pretend to be just fine Would you give up time spent with family and friends To take care of sick babies for nights on end Would you spend that last $20 on that special doll Instead of going on shopping sprees with friends at the mall I really dont think you have what it takes To put on her shoes and take her place Dont judge her but respect her for the sacrifices shed made And give her encouragement as she marches on through lifes parade
