A special project from Sheffields Machinewerks (formed by The Black Dog). They have built the perfect midi controller, and we are pleased to have some of the limited first batch of the CS X51 to sell: link.bleep/CSX51-machinewerks Last year, revered Sheffield electronic production duo The Black Dog set up a Kickstarter to fund the design and manufacturing of the CS X51, a brand new midi controller that would provide the ideal control surface for their needs. Its a unit that should suit the needs of many others as well. By channelling their many years of experience in the studio and playing live, MachineWerks (the company formed by Martin and Richard of The Black Dog) have managed to create a controller that we think is functionally and aesthetically spot-on. One key aspect to the project was the fact that the manufacturing and design process would take place entirely in Sheffield, drawing on local expertise to create something of the highest quality, in contrast to the many cheap and disposable options currently available on the market. Local design institution The Designers Republic were also drafted in to help with the branding and logo, making this a truly Sheffield-centric project.
