A study conducted in 2004 at the Department of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry at Lund University in Sweden showed the effectiveness of a Nasal Spray formulated with the essential oils of Eucalyptus (cineole), Lavender (linalool) and Cypress (davanone). After administration of the nasal spray, all patients experienced a rapid and significant relief of nasal symptoms, comparable to the effect of antihistamine. The effect was present within 5 minutes after the administration and lasted for several hours.
