A teenager will be appearing in court today (Saturday 21 June 2014) after an alleged assault and damage to a train in the Blue Mountains yesterday. About 7.55pm yesterday (Friday 20 June 2014) eight youths boarded a train at Hazelbrook. Witnesses have told police two members of the group were using implements to scratch the surfaces of windows in a carriage. Plain clothes police from the Police Transport Command Transport Action Group arrested two teenage boys, aged 15 and 16, removing them from the train. The 15-year-old boy was charged with assault, breach bail, use offensive language, transport related and malicious damage offences. He was refused bail and will appear in children’s court today (Saturday 21 June 2014). A 16-year-old boy was issued a number of infringement notices for transport related offences.
