A true Christian is known by his/her fruits not by way of dressing or speaking - President addresses Catholic Charismatic Renewal Conference President Yoweri Museveni has urged Christians to wake up from sleep and vigorously engage in commercial agriculture in order to get income to support their families and the Church. He also charged them with the responsibility of informing others to undertake homestead income generation through different enterprises. The President was addressing the ongoing gathering of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Family International Leaders Conference at Speke Resort, Munyonyo. The conference is running under the scriptural theme of They Were All Filled with the Holy Spirit, taken from the Book of the Acts of Apostles. The conference that has been organized by the Bible Society of Uganda has attracted 2,500 delegates from the whole world. President Museveni called for the purging of laziness among the people saying hard work should be the norm. He advised all people to appreciate St. Pauls advice that those who do not work should not eat adding that if St. Paul was to come now, many people would die of hunger because people do not work. He told the conference that Jesus preached against sectarianism and said those who say my religion, my tribe are not true Christians. He said a true Christian is known by his/her fruits but not by the way of dressing and speaking. He asked the Christians to emulate the Good Samaritan in the Bible by doing good and loving each other to avoid conflicts. He again observed that the African continent has had many wars because of the violation of Jesus commandments. He expressed happiness at the establishment of the Charismatic Movement. He urged the delegates to use the renewed spirit from the conference to fight the high prevalence rate of the HIV/AIDS pandemic among the people. The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Movement was established nearly 50 years ago.
