A unique question from Samuel: While I am the only one in my pharmacy, from what I hear, there are a multitude of pharmacy technicians who are psychology majors. Which leads me to my next point. I am interested in cognitive psychology, and as such, I’ve made the observation that over time my ability to guestimate the number of pills poured from the bottle onto the tray has greatly improved. Are there psychology majors in this forum who can answer the question of whether or not this ability is transferred to other scenarios? For example, if a number of dimes, quarters, or pennies fall to the ground, will I be able to guess the quantity as easily? Or is the result of familiarity with the medicine? As anyone tried this?
