A valuable tip for hikers...thanks for sharing Anwaaz Bent :) Fellow mountain users there has been a spate of rescue incident local users seem to think its just novices , tourist that do not know the mountain .. but please bear this in mind any Medical problem or slipping and falling with injury will require immediate Medical Rescue and later evacuation from the mountain. Time plays such a vital part in this outcome of the rescue for the patient Know the Rescue number for Wilderness Search and Rescue ( WSAR) 021 937 0300 Be Calm we know its hard and be concise.. give all the details prompted by the controller @ Metro Control.. give a second number of any member of your group.. ( just in case your battery dies) Please also bear in mind that the weather you venture out into .. e.g bad weather will may have a longer response time if you would need rescue due to air support not easily used in these conditions so plan your trip with this in mind. We need to be there for each other .. I write this as a reminder to all .. Hikers , Climber , Trail runners.. all users .. Rescue has visited all these users.. help us reduce the incidents I write this feedback as a Rescue Manager in the midst as many of the rescue incident and I feel for everyone whether lost , injured and those that lost lives ( R I P) and to the family .. trauma suffered cannot be minimized...
