A very fine lady from a very honorable family from Rivas Nicaragua where together with her husband Luis Somoza worked the Dolores sugar mill. I met them several times and loved their company and their family. Most of the few achievements Nicaragua has ( even today) where created by Luis Somoza. He had men of integrity in his government like Mr. Felipe Rodríguez Serrano heading the supreme court. Luis Somoza also created the Social Security (a working one!) and gave autonomy to Universities. He also created the way for a much loved Nica president Mr. Rene Schick. Luis Somoza used the power of the presidency to create the best and only great epoch Nica has ever enjoyed and he even opposed his younger brother Anastacio to become president, he said: It would be easy to make him president and very difficult to bring him down and how right he was. If there is ever a place for a statue in Nica should be and belongs to Luis Somoza and his wife Isabel helped him create that giving him a wonderful family Bernabé, Salvadora, Luisito, Alvaro, Fernando, Gerardo and Eduardo. If ever Nicaragua achieves half of the prosperity created under the Luis Somoza and Isabel Urcuyo guidelines, Nicaragua would be one of the most prosperous Countries in Latin America and a far cry from the cloaca created by the governments after his death or when he suffered a heart attack at a very young age. Thank you Isabel for your impeccable life and selfless apoyo to Nicaragua.
