A very hot week in Connecticut but unlike the UK here we have the magic AC (air conditioning) and Thank God we do, right now we are re-paving the drive way and what that means in English English is we are tarmacking the drive. Now that might sound like a simple thing to do except that because it’s very hilly here and weather can vary we get a lot of water run-off so for the last two weeks I’ve been involved in what feels like a major civil engineering project because we’ve had to figure out where to put all the drains to accommodate water run-off. Well that’s fine until heavy rains last week meant the well was breached so suddenly we had brown water coming out of the taps, ugh! Potentially this can be a health hazard but we’re all still alive – Never a dull moment!
