A very sick person did some very sick things. He hurt people and was a serious danger to others. He got caught, he was prosecuted, he got in trouble, he was publicly shamed. He deserved all those things. This weekend, he (EDIT; apparently - according to AP) took his own life. Much of his pain was self inflicted, but I’ve seen too much about him and his case not to think he was just too sick for this world. I don’t know if there is anything to do for people that are this sick, but it’s excruciating to watch it unfold just beyond one’s grasp. There’s no victory in the suicide of the sick person, just defeat. At the very least, let us commit to greater vigilance in mental health issues and greater education and awareness on abuse - the victims, the survivors, and the abusers - in the wake of Levi Moscowitz’s suicide.
