A very significant threat to drinking water in Fish Creek and - TopicsExpress

A very significant threat to drinking water in Fish Creek and Ephraim is the 12,000 gallon aviation gas tank installed at the Ephraim-Gibraltar Airport. This tank is partially above ground and partially below. If it were to rupture because of structural problems or due to an accident all ground water wells in the area would become contaminated with toxic leaded gasoline and carcinogenic chemicals contained in this fuel. When this tank was installed using tax-payers $ about 3 years ago the potential danger was brought to the attention of both the Village of Ephraim and the Town of Gibraltar Boards. To my knowledge there is no contingency plan in existence to respond to and eventual leakage or catastrophic failure of the tank and possible discharge of 12,000 gallons of dangerous chemicals into our drinking water aquifers. Speak out and demand action by the Town of Gibraltar and Village of Ephraim.
