A very special message from retired Marine Sgt Juan Valdez... (For those wondering why Halloween is special...that is Sgt Valdezs alive day as he was shot 10-31-06 by a sniper in Iraq.) We also wish to extend a very big THANK YOU to Brian Keith Media for photographing the day (keep an eye out for photos coming soon), Discover Marble & Granite for donating the airfare for Juan and Christy, Boston Red Sox for flying a flag over Fenwaypark in honor of Sgt Valdez and presenting to him, the crew of the USS Constitution for allowing Sgt to not only raise a flag over the ship but presenting it to him as well as a handmade flag box made from the ship, Miles Press for donating the poster for guests to sign,Governor Deval Patrick for sending a gubernatorial citation,Congressman Jim McGovern for a congressional citation and personal letter, Operation Ward 57 and We Support the Troops for a beautiful handmade challenge coin holder. We would also like Papa Ginos Shrewsbury for pizzas and Lauren of Hero Helpers of America for helping with food donations and an especially BIG THANK YOU to Marine Mom Cheryl Shea who helped organize food, families as well as many cards to ensure Sgt Valdez knew his sacrifices are appreciated. He was completed surprised and very honored that so many people took part in honoring him and sacrifices he made for our freedom.
