A volunteer writes: My handsome friend Travis......a little shy at first, and so sweet I fell in love in two seconds. Joining us with his friend Micaela (A1010106) both were found as strays but clearly have not been on the streets. His coat is clean and groomed, his weight perfect for his size, and while he ducks his head at sudden movements near him, hes quietly friendly and affectionate. Coming in my lap for some cuddling, his tail wags hard, and when I look into his eyes I see softness and intelligence. Travis LOVES other dogs, greeting all that stop by our pen with an eager tail wag, and thrilled when he and Micaela are reunited for some play time. Hes been given the distinct honor of being used as a helper dog, by the behavior assessment team, helping to evaluate incoming dogs. Travis is likely housetrained, going as soon as we were out the door, his leash manners are good and he takes treats gently. Hes an awesome pup who would love a family to include some canine siblings as he absolutely shines when around other dogs. Come meet our rockstar today. Another volunteer writes: Having spent a few days in a row at the care center, I got to see a lot of Travis, a seemingly simple little boy, overly thin, petite and with the longest nails. His most attractive feature...his eyes, chesnut in color, glittering and sparkling like two precious gemstones in a dark jewelry box. Travis is a bit timid and appears to ask permission to go out. He strolls nicely on the leash, is likely housetrained and is well mannered accross the board with people and other dogs. He is very attuned to his caretakers cues making him the perfect companion for the owner who does not want to get into an elaborated doggy training. Travis is affectionate and loving without being overbearing. He is like so many black dogs, the hidden treasure, the boat you would be so sorry to miss...in other words, the wonderful, loving and loyal friend you always dreamed of. Please, do not let him down...
