LOL INGSTON, Jamaica -- Former Mayor of Port Maria and candidate in the last General Elections Councillor Richard Creary today resigned as Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) caretaker for South East St Mary. With Local Government Elections due it is my intention to concentrate my efforts and resources on the Richmond Division which I have served for the last 11 years. “I intend to work tirelessly with the St Mary Team to regain control of the St Mary Parish Council at the next poll said Creary. By tendering my resignation at this time it will give the party and the constituency organization adequate time to identify and install a suitable candidate to wrestle the seat from the PNP when General Elections are called. I pledge my full support to my successor as we move to unseat this uncaring and draconian Government. Creary was elected Deputy General Secretary of the JLP in December and has indicated that he is fully committed to his duties in the Secretariat.
