A week ago, the original post of this girl bawling, having to give up her pup at the shelter, which was gut wrenching, came to my attention by my dear friend, Karina Ingrid Reuter, who lives in PA. As I am a crossposter for shelter dogs around LA and Orange Counties, she asked that I shared it on my rescue page, Dog Ears. I did. THIS is the happy (but rare) ending to this awful story. THIS is why I do what I do!! Thanks to crossposters and people who network shelter dogs, there is a CHANCE they can get saved. This dog was surrendered to San Bernadino Shelter. They are probably THE highest kill shelter in all of Southern California. They even seem to GET OFF on killing dogs. Its a slaughter house. VERY VERY VERY few make it out and the only ones that do, do so, due to the tireless efforts of volunteers who network and rescue EVERY day. Its a miracle she made it out, ESPECIALLY as a pit bull. They are put down 1st. GOD BLESS every person who stepped up to save this sweet baby and reunite her with her family, the only one shes ever known, since she was a pup. This gives me hope for humanity!
