A weird question. Ive noticed that people from the northern Illinois area will often say they are from Chicago, or if they are on TV it will say they are from Chicago, presumably because the rest of the USA is only familiar with Chicago. So to say youre from North Aurora, IL wouldnt mean anything to anyone outside of IL. Do people from other states do that? Do you identify yourself with the nearest large and popular city when youre actually from somewhere nearby?
