A while back, I expressed some beliefs on here that might be contradictory to what some or most people believe and in the process, I noticed that a friend that I have known since I lived in NC suddenly deleted me. I find it a shame that someone that is so religious as she would totally disconnect from somebody because they do not share the same beliefs. That is one of the reasons that I try to steer clear of such topics as politics and religion. It seems that we can all be born equals, in the nursery, the babies next to us and around us are our equals. We do not know hate or discrimination. As infants and small children, we do not judge other children, but then something happens. We are taught to hate, judge, and discriminate. I find it a shame that someone that would call themselves a devout christian, would shun a friend of over 15 years because we may not share the same religious beliefs. And I thought the bible said something like this, this new commandment I give onto you, that you should love one another. The wording may not be exact but the meaning is as I had read it so many years ago. All I can say is I really dont need those types of friends in my life. Accept me for who I am and if you dont like it, then move along, I have more important people in my life that do accept me. Even though I lost this friend, I regained a couple friends shortly thereafter, a child hood friend from NC and a very special friend right here in Florida. Lost one, gained two, still moving ahead.
