A woman has today agreed before a Nairobi court that she planned to have her husband killed. The mother of two told the court that she wanted to have the husband killed because he was a bother in her life. Faith Wairimu Maina, who stays in Zimmerman estate, was arrested on the 17th of June this year after she fell into a police net. Her husband had reported to the police that she had hired men to kill him. The police pretended to be the hired men and constantly communicated with her. They planned to meet and she gave them a sum of Sh 40,000 as deposit and promised to give them the balance of Sh 160,000 once the job was complete. The police officers told the court that Maina promised to give them the balance after they bring the husbands clothes with blood all over, a sign that they had killed him. The court heard that the police met the husband and using animal’s blood dipped his clothes and took to the accused who gave them the money. They arrested her at that moment and took her to the police station where she came to learn that she had been framed. Appearing before the magistrate, Wairimu pleaded guilty saying that she wanted to kill the husband because he did not add any value to her life. He neither provided for the family nor contributed to the family’s income and she felt he was better dead. She was remanded at the Women’s Prison until the 28th of June when judgement will be passed.
