A wonderful day of working in the garden then went to a most awesome fund raiser dinner to support canines for the handicapped. It was good clean fun! A group of older women who have formed a club to raise funds for good causes. I was very impressed and so many people came up and introduced themselves and gave us such special attention (were such a cute couple...LOL..naw I think because most of the women were part of the group and we were new comers...but still such a nice feeling that there are some people that still have manners! I felt like a spring chicken.. :-) but think that is just me and have not learned to see myself as old yet. And wow! these elderly know how to party...the wine was flowing...LOL.The family that the funds will go to brought two of their dogs...a 8 year old lab that is a breeder (they will breed the dogs not more than five times depending on the health of the dog) which they get to keep She had such good manners and a 4 month lab with the sweetest face I have ever seen! The puppy was the best behaved 4 month old! They take the puppies in for a year and half to social them and teach them good behavior then they send them to training for 9 months and then they are given for free to those that need help. All very impressive. When the dogs retire they are returned to the family to live out the rest of their days. All in all the whole night just had me smiling that there are still a lot of good people in this world! Tomorrow its off to the Edible Art Reception to raise money for breast cancer. Monday the hubster flys out to spend some quality time with his mom...mixed feelings but it is a good thing I know..she is 97.
