A word about THE LORD WHO IS THE SHEPHERD AND ALL OF US WHO ARE - TopicsExpress

A word about THE LORD WHO IS THE SHEPHERD AND ALL OF US WHO ARE THE LAMBS. What does that really mean? I believe it is explained best in the words of a hymn that many of us learned as little children. I am Jesus little lamb. The words go like this, I am Jesus little lamb, ever glad at heart I am. For my Shepherd gently guides me, knows my needs and well provides me. Loves me everyday the same, even calls me by my name. Think about this verse for a moment. My heart is glad when I know I can be called one of the Lords lambs. There are all kinds of stories in the Bible that talk about how Shepherds take care of their sheep. The point is made here that I need taking care of. We all need to realize that. The world tells you to take care of yourself. It would have a person believe that one is weak if one needs someone else. That is totally opposite of how a Christian should feel. You and I are strongest when we rely on our Lord to lead and guide us. I am not the shepherd, the Lord is. And as the hymn verse points out, my Shepherd knows my needs and well provides me. It is a fantastic thing. The Lord not only knows my every need, but on top of that He knows how to provide, how to help, and how to fix what concerns me. I dont know all. It is a mistake some people make when they act and come across as though they know it all. This is why I need help. Only the Lord knows all. And everyday its the same. Day in and day out, the Lord knows my needs. He is not a casual observer in the believers life. He even as the hymn says, knows my name. Most people in this world dont know my name. Out of the billions that walk on the earth today, only a small fraction, one that wouldnt even register, know me. But this does not matter as long as I know the Lord calls me by name. He loves me. He died for me. He forgives me. When this all happened at the cross, He knew I was one day going to live. He knew what my name would be. He willingly did it all for me. He, my Shepherd, did everything for me, His lamb. What would ever make me think that I am strong without Him? What are your needs? Give them to your Shepherd. He tends His flock like a shepherd. He gathers the lambs in His arms and carries them close to His heart. Isaiah 40:11 We invite you to like us at facebook/trinityhowards
