A writing website that I use sometimes sent me a writing prompt: I write because... Well, DUH! I write to get the words out of my head! They bubble up on their own and characters are born in there and I have to let them out. Its almost like channeling for me. I go along with it (rather than shutting it down) because I enjoy the process and I like who I am and how I think when Im writing. Whether my writing is any good or not is basically irrelevant -- though it would be nice if it were entertaining to readers in the end because that would just be more practical. And better for my ego, of course. But, really, its between me and my stories because they have a life of their own. THERE, nanowrimo, is my answer!
