A year ago today on January 9th, I suffered a cardiac arrest. I was pronounced clinically dead for 25 minutes. Thanks to the fast reaction of my Zumba participants and the excellent CPR I was given, along with getting my heart shocked 5 times, I finally made it to the hospital. After being in critical condition and having more than 16 surgeries in less than a week I finally made it through but unfortunately had to get my right leg amputated due to complications with one of the heart machines that saved my life. I cannot thank God enough for all the miracles He has done for me! It has been a very difficult year, with a lot of challenges, but God has been with me during every challenge and has given me the strength I needed. I’m still amazed to see God’s love through all the nice people with whom he has surrounded me with and all the prayers and words of encouragement, and the financial support that my family and I received. Life is a gift from God, and we need to live it that way. We may think that we have control over it, but we dont. God is the only one who gives life and we need to take care of it the best that we can! I am thankful to God for giving me another opportunity to live, and thank you to my family and all of my dearest friends, old and new, close and far away who have been with us during this difficult time of our lives.
