AAP High command Let me introduce myself. My name is Shakur Tisekar from Kokan. I currently live in Sydney Australia. We have about 1000 Kokani people living here in Sydney. We have registered association of kokani people where we celebrate DIWALI & IDD functions & organise cultural events to maintain our Indian values & identity. I work as a secretary of the association. On behalf of our Kokani Association, I would like to take this opportunity to give you some feedback about the perceptions of Indian people living in Australia about AAP party and our expectations . We have been keenly observing AAP movement, right from the beginning when it was started by Anna Hazare saab ; Arvind Kejriwal saab & few others. We are moved by the sacrifices made by Arvind sir & his passion to clean Indian political system. We regularly keep in touch with Kokani social workers and Kokani community in general. As a result, we just heard few things about how selection process of Raigad candidate from Kokan was followed that does not appear to be in line with AAP guidelines of candidate selection criteria. If it is true, what we have heard then it has raised some serious doubts in the minds of many Kokani people on the transparency of election process adopted recently for selecting AAP candidate from Raigad constituency. We have a serious concerns about following points; • We believe that the candidate who was being considered as number one candidate for some time was toppled overnight without any sound reasons; • The most disturbing fact is that number one candidate is sidelined on the basis of communal ground which contradicts the core values of AAP • The main local social workers from Raigad were bypassed and ignored in selection process. Few social workers who have not done any great community work in the area recommended number two candidate and that is it. • Choosing candidate based on few recommendations is what all other parties do. If AAP has started adopting the same process in Maharashtra then how AAP would stand out as a unique party from others. What is the difference in candidate selection process of any other party & AAP?
