**ABS** Are you doing your abdominal and oblique exercises - TopicsExpress

**ABS** Are you doing your abdominal and oblique exercises properly? You would be surprised to know that a majority of people do not recruit the abdominal muscles properly when attempting to exercise this particular area. And if you are doing the traditional sit-up...STOP. The only thing sit-ups will do for you is give you lower back pain and neck pain. This can also happen if you are not properly executing a crunch. Another thing that most people are not aware of when they are performing improper crunches is that instead of exercising their abdominal muscles, they are in fact exercising their hip flexors. With the knowledge and know how from a trained personal fitness trainer, AKA Me, you can learn how to properly execute abdominal and obligue exercises. This could help eliminate some of the lower back pain you may be experiencing from improper form and muscle recruitment, as well as help you recruit the target muscles. PS - Another type.... You do not have to do tons and tons of repetitive crunches to get results. If you are properly doing crunches then all you need to do is 1-3 sets of 8-20 :)
