AC Milan Make Formal £8 Bid For Fiorentina Star, Adem Ljajic AC Milan have submitted a formal bid to Fiorentina worth €8m for striker Adem Ljajic, but the Viola have deemed it unacceptable. Talks have continued over the weekend between the two clubs, as the Rossoneri step up their interest in signing the Serbian international as negotiations over a contract extension continue. Fiorentina owner Andrea Della Valle told the 21-year-old on Friday that he must either accept their offer or risk being put on the market, despite a willingness to stay in Florence. Ljajic scored in a 4-1 friendly win over Turkish side Gaziantepspor on Saturday, with the Viola supporters chanting for him to sign an extension, although it remains unclear where his future lies at this stage. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Milan submitted a formal bid of €8m via fax to their Serie A rivals, but were immediately rejected as Fiorentina deem it to be too low. Meanwhile, Viola vice-president Paolo Panerai then took to Twitter to suggest Milan had violated the regulations by contacting Ljajic and his representatives prior to an agreement being reached with the club. While Milan moved to quash reports that they had acted wrongly, Ljajic has since switched agents after firing Fali Ramadani and replacing him with Mladen Furtula. Some sections of the Italian media have interpreted the move as a sign of the talented youngster attempting to push through a move to Milan, although the Italian giants will have to improve their offer if they hope to sign him this summer. Ljajic’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and Fiorentina are keen to avoid losing him for nothing in twelve months time.
