AC milan may rise again! Athletico madird got their job done in UCL when they dumped milan out, milan who seemed to play better in possesion than in conversion now have nothing to lose rather than maintain legue position. Milans main problem is that they went about the rebuilding process all wrong. First of all, they prolonged it for too long! Rebuilding should have started after 2007 but thats when the charades started. Kaka was sold shortly after. Milan started bringing in players who were past their prime like Beckham, Ronaldinho to sell shirts, but were not really a long term solutions for the club. Eventually Ibra was brought in which guaranteed one league title but after that short lived success, Milan made bad decisions to sell Pirlo to Juventus and then to sell Ibra and Silva to PSG while geting rid of all the veterans at the same season! consequently, stripping Milans identity all at once and not reinforcing properly, relying on free transfers and not taking enough care in choosing coaching roles, End result- is the Milan we are seeing today. Rebuilding is something that happens gradually over time, not all at once. Because thats why d present Milan find themselves in a situation where the team is confused and lack identity. A lot of players just dont have the quality or the ambition to wear the Milan shirt. Milan have now had to revert to a part of their past (Kaka) in order to try and instill some leadership in the team but even he alone cant do so much. Milan must move forward, get rid of the dead weight and spend, (while trusting their youth too). There needs to be balance. Investing wisely (not like Real Madrid), but it also shouldnt mean having mediocre players in the squad who cant get the simple things done and who are there just collecting a wage. Milan need to get their quality back, they need to get their passion back. Seedorf has the rest of the season with basically nothing more to lose, therefore, it should be used wisely, experiment more with some of the younger players and try to get a rhythm and momentum going and then do the business in the summer transfer window, use the following season to only focus on Serie A and taking small steps. Milan are going through rough times, but they arent over. Its all about how they respond to this transition in their next steps. Well just say they are sleeping right now.
