#ACN #prices slip in Asia Despite a rise in #feedstock #propylene values, ACN spot prices were assessed sharply lower in Asia this week. Prices dropped on the back of a week on week sharp decline in upstream energy values coupled with poor buying interest in the region. #CFR Far East Asia prices of ACN were assessed at the USD 1810/mt levels while CFR South East Asia prices were assessed at the USD 1780/mt levels, both tumble USD 40/mt from the previous week. CFR South Asia prices of ACN were assessed lower at the USD 1720/mt levels, a week on week drop of USD 30/mt. In the domestic markets of China, prices of ACN were at the Yuan 13500/mt levels. Buyers and sellers of ACN remained apart with regards to their ideal pricing targets in Asia. Feedstock propylene prices on Tuesday were assessed at the USD 660/mt CFR China levels while FOB Korea prices of propylene were at the USD 600/mt levels, both unchanged week on week. In plant news, Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical has shut its 260,000 mt/year acrylonitrile (ACN) plant, located at Jinshan in China, early January 2015 for a maintenance turnaround. The plant is expected to remain off-stream for around one month. In another plant news. Anqing Petrochemical has shut its 80,000 mt/year acrylonitrile (ACN) #plant, located in Anhui province, China, on January 4, 2015 for maintenance turnaround.
