ADRA Connections Nurse Team is in Timor Leste building latrines - TopicsExpress

ADRA Connections Nurse Team is in Timor Leste building latrines today to help save the lives of disabled, elderly and disadvantaged people living in remote rural communities. When I tell people this, many people ask... what is a latrine? Im surprised just how many people dont know! When they find out it is a toilet, they then ask, Why would you want to go on a trip to help build toilets? I smile and say... building a toilet can save many, many lives! But most people dont know this in our wipe and flush society. We simply go to the toilet and forget about it. And society has forgotten about this critical problem too! We dont realize that thousands of people, particularly children, are dying every day from preventable diseases that using a toilet can help to eradicate if people are educated through proper development programs and projects like ADRA are operating. We are ashamed to talk about toilets, yet if we simply talked crap a little more, peoples lives can be saved. Will you stand with me and talk crap with as many people as you can and share with them how donating to ADRA or joining a Connections Team to build toilets can save lives??? Heres a super TedTalk Video that will help explain this pooey problem in detail :) Please watch it, take it to heart and share it! Together we can help save lives and try to help meet a seriously behind millennium goal! https://youtube/watch?v=ZmSF9gVz9pg
