ADVENTURE AND YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING PROGRAMME BEGINS AT BOMDILLA. ITANAGAR, Jul 07: Adventure & Youth Leadership Training organized by Arunachal Mountaineering & Adventure Sports Association (AMASA) under the aegis of West Kameng District Administration began at Multi Sports Indoor Club Bomdila. Inaugurating the training, Sports Authority of Arunachal Chairman Tapak Taku, spoke at length about the importance of youth in the present context emphasizing on youth skill development, education and proper training to them for greater contribution towards the society. Congratulating the State’s top sports personalities, Tapuk stated that ace mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa has put Arunachal Pradesh in world map of mountaineering. He also extended his best wishes to Everester Nima Lama and weightlifter duo Jimjang Deru and Lalu Taku, who made a mark in Asian Youth Weightlifting Championship recently. Acknowledging the yeoman service of AMASA, he announced Rs. 3 Lakhs for furthering the development of adventure sports and youth activities in the state. Parliamentary Secretary R T Khunjuju who was Guest of Honor recalled his close association with AMASA taking it back to the formative year 1993. Being an adventurer and a mountaineer himself, he assured all possible help in developing adventure sports in general and AMASA Rock Field in particular. Director of National Mountaineering & Allied Sports (NIMAS) Col Gulshan Chadda and local public leader Dorjee Tsering spoke about the potential and prospect of mountaineering in Arunachal Himalayas. Tsering Wange president AMASA briefed the house about the training programme and introduced the instructors and the trainees. He read out the message of best wishes received from Director Sports & Youth Affairs DK Dinglow, Deputy Commissioner AK Singh and Everester Tapi Mara. 48 selected youths of the district are being trained over a period of 21 days in three batches of 16 trainees each.
