AFRC fixes fees for B Pharma, B Arch The fee structure for B Pharmacy, B Architecture and Pharm D courses in private unaided colleges was announced here. The fee for B Pharmacy and B Architecture is from Rs 26,500 to Rs 35,000, depending on the college, and for Pharm D, the fee is Rs 57,800 to Rs 1,04,200 per year. The fee structure will be in force for the academic years 2013-14, 2014-15 and 2015-16. As per the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC), for colleges which have merely indicated tuition fee proposals, an ad-hoc fee of Rs 26,500 was fixed. The same fee was also fixed for colleges which have furnished data and requested for a tuition fee of Rs 31,000 to Rs 35,000. A fee of Rs 68,000 and above in respect of Pharm D course was allowed for some colleges. A fee of up to 5,000 US dollars was fixed per year per each NRI student. An additional amount of Rs 3,000 per year can be charged from each student towards tuition fee, over and above the tuition fee fixed, for courses which are given accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation. An additional amount of Rs 2,000 as one time payment per student at the time of admission towards admission/registration/recognition fees can be charged and out of the amount, Rs 500 shall be remitted by the institution to the university concerned. Besides, Rs 1,000 per year per student during the fourth year engineering course towards student-related special services rendered by the institutions can be collected. Colleges should not charge any capitation fee, or any amount unauthorisedly or illegally under any other head or guise (donation etc), either directly or indirectly, other than the fee fixed by the committee, the orders specified. Collection of any such amounts would amount to charging of capitation fee and the funds thus generated must be used for the benefit of the institution and cannot be diverted for other purposes or personal gain, the orders stated.
