AHSC SCHOOL AWARD WINNER: MARK HUYNH Fine Arts Teacher and Coach, Galileo Academy of Science and Technology Mark Huynh graduated from Galileo as the senior class president and back-to-back varsity football champion. Huynh went on to receive a B.A. in ART from San Francisco State University. In 2000 he returned to teach art at the high school and for the last five years coached the diverse varsity football team consisting of many Asian, Latino, Samoan, and African American players, who recently won another championship. He was selected and inducted to the Galileo Sports Hall of Fame in 2012. He serves as the Pendulum newspaper and Telescope yearbook advisor and has organized student government leaders in volunteering for the Chinese New Year Parade.
