AIM Preventive Conservation Grant Scheme for Museums The Association of Independent Museums (AIM) has announced that the next deadline for applications to its Preventive Conservation Grant Scheme for Museums is the 31st March 2015. The scheme has been set up to help small museums develop a more sustainable approach to the conservation and management of collections through improvements to preventive conservation within their museum. The type of activities considered for funding include: • Environmental surveys • Training for volunteers • Environmental monitoring and control equipment • Ultraviolet filters • Integrated pest management • Display cases and picture framing; etc. Priority will be given to obtaining professional advice in compiling conservation and implementation strategies, and training for volunteers. Eligible AIM members must be registered or accredited, or expect to achieve accreditation within two years, and they must have fewer than 60,000 visitors or a turnover of less than £300,000 per year.
