AIR POWER DISCUSSION OF THE WEEK – ANSWER! CAN A CHRISTIAN WORK IN A NIGHTCLUB? Dear All, Thanks for your contributions. Find below my thoughts. I will like to answer this question with a principle I call The Principle of Conduct. A principle is a fundamental truth for a system of beliefs , behavior or a chain of reasoning. It helps guide our beliefs and way of thought. I will like us to examine two related scriptures to explain The principle of conduct Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. According to these verses what we do and say should be guided by three things: 1. Everything we do should be done in the name of Jesus. Can you work in a nightclub and confidently say Jesus approves of it and asked you to do it? 2. We should be able to thank God for what we do. Can you thank sincerely thank God for working in a disco with a clear conscience? 3. We should glorify God in what we do. Can you sincerely say that working in a disco will bring praise and honor to God? If you answered YES to any of these then I am afraid your conscience is seared because I do not think any of these is possible when you work in a disco. Have a wonderful weekend!
