AIRPORT EBOLA SET UP By: Mark Kayok The Governments National Response Task Force for Ebola Virus Disease, is setting up temporary tents or shelters, at the Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport. The temporary makeshifts are part of the Task Forces contingency plan, to treat suspected cases of Ebola at the airport. Manager for Disease Control and Surveillance Barry Ropa says, theyve asked the Airports Corporations to provide several different locations for the temporary clinics. Mr Ropa told N-B-Cs Dabai program this week, they are also finalizing recruitment of nurses and specially trained medical staff, to help provide screening on suspected patients. To do that, we are now in the process of recruiting nationals. This should not be delayed, because recruitment process might take some time for us to interview and then the people sign their contracts. Well be stationed at the airport to do screening and also further interrogation while waiting for transport, Mr. Ropa said. Trained personnel from the Health department, including selected staff from various government agencies, comprising the Task Force, are also being dispatched to points of entry nationwide.
