ALCON: Interested in helping a local scout with his Eagle Scout project? Did I add that its for a new foundation called LZ-Grace Warrior Retreat Foundation? Right in our own backyard here in Virginia Beach! L-Grace is a recognized 501c3 Charitable Foundation (FEIN: 47-0961370 501(c) (3), where all donations of funds or materials are tax deductible. The founder, Mrs. Lynnette Bukowski, widow of her 32 year veteran Navy SEAL, started this foundation based on her late husband’s dream to provide a confidential and secure retreat that would provide respite and healing after deploying, to his Brothers-in-Arms from all branches of the Special Operations Forces community. The motto of LZ-Grace is; WE HEAL THE LIVING! At the suggestion of Mrs. Bukowski, I will be constructing 6 Memorial benches to place in the botanical garden; five recycled plastic benches and one wood plank bench. These benches will exhibit laser engravings and/or placards with inspiring warrior inscriptions. I will utilize my leadership skills to manage Scouts from my Troop in the labor portion of the project, tentatively scheduled for early February 2015. To support this more than worthy cause I need to ask for donations, grants or sponsorship to acquire the needed materials and the laser engraving/placards for this project.
