*** ALERT *** 0z MON EUROPEAN MODEL IS IN ... THE MODEL STILL SHOWS INLAND MAJOR SNOWSTORM... Shenandoah valley Roanoke/ Lexington to Winchester into central/ western MD ... eastern third of WVA .. All of central & eastern PA see a BIIIIG snowstorm . This run of the EUro Model supports my 1st Guess map very strongly . DETAILS ... Once again for the 10th run in a row the Euro does NOT BACK OFF AT ALL or shift the TRACK of the Surface Low (or the 850 mb Low for you weather geeks/ mets out there ). The 0z EURO pushes the r/s line (0 degrees C line 850 isotherm) NORTH of NYC and BOS by 7pm wed -- ergo RAIN for NYC CT long island RI southeast mass ********************** IN MIDDLE ATLANTIC -- northern NC WVA VA MD DEL PA NJ ... On WED MORING the r/s snow line runs from Danville to Farmville to Fredericksburg to Dover Del. Everyone south and east of that Line sees Rain wednesday moning / afternoon. Rain mixes with then changes to snow over western NC mtns .. and eastern WVA . The rain changes to snow Wednesday am over sw VA ( Wytheville to Roanoke ) and over far western VA from ROA to Winchester / Martinsburg by 1pm . Rain mixes with snow over central MD / central / eastern PA then goes to all snow by 1pm WED. SOUTHEAST PA ( Philly/ southern NJ will be a mix then all RAIN by wednesday 7pm. WEDNESDAY NIGHT ... the DRY slot over southeast VA will punch its way northeast across the Dlmarva into NJ and NYC and into Long island / se mass. Thus by the time the cold air retuns to NYC and se Mass .... the precip may be over. . NW third of VA as well as western MD and ne third of WVA will see heavy snow to midnight or 1am thursday. Eastern PA will see heavy snow to 7am Thursday. Eastern NY states and all of VT NH westrn half of Mass and MAYBE ne CT will see heavy snow thursday to 1-4pm.
