Monday: Sunny to partly cloudy. Nice. Highs 57-62. Southwest wind 10 mph or less. Monday Night: Mostly cloudy. Slight chance of rain late. Lows 33-38. West wind 10 mph or less. Tuesday: Scattered rain showers changing to scattered snow showers or flurries. Breezy with falling temperatures. Highs 40-45, falling through the 30s. Northwest wind 10-20 mph. Weather Summary: Breezy conditions (especially in the mountains) will subside this evening. Mainly clear skies are expected overnight with lows 25-30. Monday, Veterans Day, will offer up our warmest day until next weekend. In fact, temperatures Monday may climb into the lower 60s (near normal)! We are tracking a surge of cold, arctic air that will blast into the Tri-Cities on Tuesday. The cold front associated with the cold air will generate scattered rain showers late Monday night through Tuesday. As colder air sweeps into the southern Appalachian region during the day Tuesday, scattered rain showers may change to snow showers and flurries through the evening. At this point, little to no accumulation is expected in the Tri-Cities, but an inch or two is possible across the higher elevations, especially above 2500 feet. Breezy northwest winds will usher in arctic air resulting in falling temperatures and low wind chills for this time of year on Tuesday! Be alert to this cold blast of air and dress warmly. Low wind chills can be dangerous if not prepared. Wednesday wont be as windy, but it still will be cold! Skies will clear on Wednesday and remain mainly clear Thursday and Friday. Increasing clouds are expected Saturday. Rain showers are possible next Sunday. Highs Tuesday will be in the lower to middle 40s (with falling temperatures through the day). Highs Wednesday will only be in the upper 30s to lower 40s! The extreme cold will slowly loosen its grip on the Tri-Cities by next weekend. Highs in lower 50s Thursday, mid 50s Friday, and upper 50s Saturday. As always, you can get the latest weather information on-air, online, and on mobile from StormTrack 5.
