ALERT!! SOON TO BE RELEASED!! From the Police Academy that is. Officer Patrick Taylor and Officer Scott Nord will soon leave early morning runs in the dark in Sitka, dorm rooms, and cafeteria food to return to Juneau, mid-November, to start field training with experienced JPD officers. They will start by riding shotgun and in three months or so will graduate to being in patrol cars all by themselves. Officer Taylor comes to us from the Navy, truly an officer and a gentleman, not to mention smart, really smart. Officer Nord comes with a physical tactics background and some gnarly out of country volunteer work of the social services type. JPD hit it out of the park with these two so please give them a warm welcome to our Juneau winter. Three hired recently, eight vacancies left.
