ALLAH SAYS ALL MUSLIMS WILL GO TO HELL Every serious muslim should this because it has to do with your life after you die… THE QURAN MAKES A SHOKING but clear statement that apart from ‘unbelievers’; ALL Muslims will go to hell, first, before some of them are rescued, while the unbelievers and other unserious Muslims would remain there. There is none of you shall not go there (hell) – this is the judgment your Lord has purposed. Then we shall save those who fear Allah, and we shall leave the evil doers in the fire on their knees (Surah 19:71-72) In case of any doubt about the meaning or correct rendering of these verses, especially verse 71, let us quote N.J. Dawood’s translation (Koran, penguin books Ltd., 1959): “There is not one of you who shall not pass through the confines of hell…” J.M. Rodwell’s translation (1950 edition) renders it: “No one there is of you who shall not go down into it…” The popular Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall’s translation, (The Meaning of the Glorious Koran, New York, 1954) puts the three verse this way: “There is not one of you but shall approach it. That is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord. Then we shall rescue those who are kept from evil, and leave the evil doers crouching there.” “There is not one of you but shall approach it. There is a fixed ordinance of thy Lord. Then we shall rescue those who are kept from evil, and leave the evil doers crouching there.” In a letter edition, Pickthall recasts the second sentence as: “that is a fixed decree of thy Lord.” Professor A.J. Arberry’s translation has it as: “…2 we shall parade them about in Gehenna (Hell Fire) hobbling on their knees. Then we shall pluck forth from every party whichever of them the most was hardened…;then we shall know very well those most deserving to burn there. Not one of you there is, but he shall go down to it; that for thy Lord is a decreed, determined. Then we shall deliver those that were God fearing; and the evildoers we shall leave there, hobbling on their knees.” (from verse 69). Commenting on Surah 42:13, Drs Muhammad Al-Hilali and Mushin Kahn quote Muhammad as saying “Jews will be divided into 71 religious sects and the Christians will be divided into 72 religious sects and this nation (Muslims) will be divided into 73 religious sects – all in Hell, except one.” It is in that context that we can understand Sura 19:68-69: “… we (Allah) shall gather them (all these people) together and also the devils (with them): then we shall bring them round Hell on their knees. Then indeed we shall drag out from every sect all those who wereworst in obstinate rebellion against the Beneficent (Allah) (Al-Hilali & khan trans) How long will a devout Muslim stay in Hell before Allah comes to rescue him? The rescuing is to be done on the Day of Judgment. Meanwhile, billions of Muslims have died since Islam started 1,400 years ago. The Day of Judgment has not come yet. Where are these billions? If this day does not come in the next one thousand years, they remain there, and the present billion will join them. What the Quran is revealing here clearly is that as a matter of the policy of Allah, being a Muslim is sufficient to qualify a man as a candidate of Hell in the first place; and that the real ‘salvation’ comes only after one is already in Hell. The Bible makes it clear, however, that once a person enters Hell, there is no way of deliverance. Now, compare Allah’s way of ‘salvation’ with that offered by Jesus Christ in the gospel: “There is therefore now No condemnation to them that are in Christ Jesus…” (Romans 8:1). Do we need to go to Hell before we are saved from it, before we are ‘plucked forth’? In fact, it seems Muhammad himself did not know for sure whether or not he was one of those in the sects (party) that will be “plucked forth” from Hell or will remain there. This is because in the Hadith, it is reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah say – “Verily the Almighty and Glorious Allah caught one party with His right hand and another with another hand, and said: “This is for this, and this is for this, and I don’t care.’ I don’t know in which of the two parties I am”22. What that means is that Allah has already divided mankind into two parties – the group destined for Hell, and that of those destined for Heaven (who too must first enter Hell); and here the prophet of Islam is quoted as saying he does not actually know himself which group he belongs. This can be corroborated in the Quran where Allah tells Muhammad to: “Say (to your followers): I am no bringer of new-fangled doctrine among the apostles, nor do I know what will be done with me or with you. I follow but a warner open and clear” (Surah 46:9). Again Muhammad says in the Hadith, ‘By Allah (I swear), though I am the Apostle of Allah, yet I do not know what Allah will do to me”23 Is it wisdom to follow a man who tells us he is the greatest prophet and the seal of the messengers of God and yet does not know whether or not he is going to the Paradise he is preaching about? This is a question that a serious Muslim needs to ask himself instead of looking for every means of defending Islam. Our eternal destiny should be more important to us than defending a religion. From this, it is clear that Muslim does not have any guarantee in the Quran or Hadith that his soul is eternally secure when he dies. Another Hadith establishes the fact that all Muslims must enter hell. That Hadith quotes Muhammad as saying, “He (Allah) will order the angels to take out of Hell those who worshipped none but Him alone. The angels will take them out by recognizing them from the traces of prostrations, for Allah has forbidden the (Hell) fire to eat away those traces. So they will come out of the fire, it will eat away the whole of the human body except the marks of the prostrations. At that time they will come out of the fire as mere skeletons. The Water of Life will be poured on them and as a result they will grow like seeds growing on the bank of flowing water…”24 What is the meaning of this? We don’t need any chief imam or so-called Islamic scholar to explain this. It is very clear. It says Allah will order angels to rescue his true worshippers from hell fire. It means all Muslims will go to Hell, whatever their category or devotion. They will all be there till the Day of Resurrection. If the Resurrection does not take place in the next 500 years, the Muslims who are alive today and who will naturally die sooner or late will remain in Hell fire. Those who have died since the time of Muhammad for 1,400 years are still there till today because the Day of Resurrection has not come yet. That is what Muhammad says in the Quran and the Hadith. How will a devout Muslim get out of that Hell fire? Muhammad says, Allah will watch out for the marks of prostration (prayers). This is the calloused dark mark or bump that appears on the forehead of a Muslim who touches the ground with his bare head in prostration of prayers. That is the guarantee of salvation for the Muslim who enters Hell. That means even if you have gone to Mecca on pilgrimage ten times and paid much alms and fasted all your life, what will count at the end of the day is the mark on your forehead. If you don’t have it, you remain in Hell forever! Even the mark does not prevent you from going to hell in the first place. Think about that. The prayer bump or mark of constant prostration that Allah will look for to deliver a Muslim from Hell Fire. It is called Zebiba or Zabibah. A few Muslims who know about this make every effort to make sure they acquire this dark mark on their forehead. Some Muslim priests, who could not acquire the mark by normal constant prostration and hitting the forehead on the ground, take a hot potsherd or something to scrap or burn the forehead to get the mark. Some have been known to have scraped their foreheads on the wall to acquire the mark! In this Hadith, Muhammad says, “so they (good Muslims) will come out of the Fire, it (the fire) will eat away from the whole of the human body except the marks of the prostrations. At that time they will come out of the Fire as mere skeletons. The Water of Life will be poured on them and as a result they will grow like the seeds growing on the bank of flowing water.” The good and faithful prayerful Muslim will come out of the Hell Fire as mere skeleton – all flesh would have been roasted out completely. The only part of his body that the fire will spare is this little mark of prayer on the forehead! This is the salvation offered by Allah. That Hadith says, a certain water of life will be poured on the skeletons of these Muslims, and they can now become full human beings again and pass over to paradise to meet the special women prepared for them. Allah’s Apostle said, “The believers, after being saved from the (Hell) Fire, will be stopped at the bridge between Paradise and Hell and mutual retaliation will be established among them regarding wrongs they have committed in the world against one another. After they are cleansed and purified (through the relation), they will be admitted into paradise…”25 (sahih al-bukahari, volume 8, book 76, number 542) How many Muslims will be purified and ultimately be transferred into paradise? Let the prophet speak: Narrated Sahl bin Sad: the Prophet said, “Verily! 70,000 or 700,000 of my followers will enter Paradise altogether; so that the first and the last amongst them will enter at the same time, and their faces will be glitering like the bright full moon.”26 In other words, of the billions that have died in Islam in the past 1,400 years and the present 1.2 billion Muslims, only “70,000 or 700,000” will eventually enter the Islamic Paradise – and that is after they must have spent several years in hell! How sad that this is the ‘God’ that Muslims sincerely devote all their life to serve! This is the ‘God’ they are ready to kill and die for. I think it is time for reasonable Muslims to begin to think more boldly about such a ‘God’. Is it not time that a right-thinking Muslim should put his trust in someone who is real Savoir? There is, indeed, a Saviour who gives eternal life and heaven to ALL His followers. His name is: “…JESUS who delivers us from the wrath (hell) to come..” (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10.! He said, “Verily, verily, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life. (John 5:24). Again the Bible tells us that as Christians, “Therefore, since we have been justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ…. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” (Romans 5:1, 9-11). “For God not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,” (1Thessalonians 5:9). This is the major difference between the god that reveals himself in the Bible and the spirit of Allah that Mohammed says revealed himself to him and whom Muslims are following with all their zeal. Allah says he has destined all Muslims for Hell. The God of the Bible says He has not destined anybody for wrath (punishment), but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus says He is the only one that can give any person the living water, and you don’t have to wait until you enter Hell Fire for hundreds of years and be reduced to skeleton before you come out . All those who follow Jesus will NEVER enter Hell! The living water He offers is the Holy Spirit, and a genuine follower of Jesus will have the Spirit here before he dies (John 4:10). The God of the Bible did not destine any of the followers of Jesus to Hell-not even for a split second. If you are a Muslim and you have been patient with me to read this book to this point, there are only three things that can take you to Hell. First your fear of people- your relatives, your Muslim friends and other Islamic leaders who would want to force you to remain in Islam; second, your feeling of shame; third, your pride- how you see yourself changing when you are already known by everyone as a zealous Muslim. Or are you upset with me because I have pointed out these truths to you? I believe it is wiser that you get more concern about the salvation of your soul than in defending a religion. If you make up your mind to overcome these three huddles, no Allah can force you into any Hell Fire. Jesus will save you! If you are ready to be saved from your sins, would you like to pray this prayer with me: O, God! Now I have seen clearly that my efforts and Zeal in this religion I inherited will not prevent me from entering Hell Fire. This is what I have found out in both the Quran and the Hadith. I don’t want to enter Hell. O God, forgive me all my sins. I ask you, Lord Jesus, to come and enter my heart. I believe in you. I believe you died for me so I will not suffer in Hell. Cleanse all my sins away today and let me find your grace. I want your water of life to begin to overflow in my heart from today. Thank you, Lord. The Quran describes Jesus Christ “…as one who invites to God’s Grace by His leave and as a Lamp spreading Light.” (Surah Al-Ahzab 46). Whosoever believes in jesus shall be save and would have eternal life. He shall not go to hell. John 3:16-17
