ALLIANCE FOR BETTER ZAMBIA ABZ PRESS STATEMENT DECEMBER 22, 2014. We urge all Zambians from various religions to continue praying for political parties in our country that experienced wrangles and divisions in the process of adopting a candidate for the forthcoming presidential election. Our call for continued prayers comes as a result of stories by some sections of the media that are disappointed to see warring factions especially in the Patriotic Front (PF) reconcile and choose to work together as a united family. Our call is also prompted by statements from some opposition political parties who have been praying for the continuation of squabbles in PF and the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD). We are aware that some opposition political parties and some sections of the media who desire that PF lose the forthcoming presidential election have been praying and scheming for the continuation of hostilities in the governing party. It is our hope and prayer that men and women from all religions in Zambia will not allow those who have been praying for confusion in political parties to succeed. Therefore we urge them to continue praying for the success of the reconciliation in PF and MMD. They should also pray that the healing started in PF and MMD will bear fruit. Finally, we wish to plead with senior members of the PF to avoid making statements that may easily be misconstrued and used to create the impression that the wrangles in their party are still rife. These senior members should realize that those opposed to the reconciliation in PF including some opposition political parties are bent on fomenting discord in PF for their own selfish ends. It is therefore important for everyone in PF to avoid making statements that enemies of unity and common purpose may use to perpetrate confusion. Fr. Frank Bwalya ABZ LEADER
