ALRIGHT! I had a fantastic time sharing my journey with 3rd and 4th graders at a local Elementary school. Like I said earlier, the talk was called ACHIEVING YOUR DREAMS using the Froglogic principles and DOC FROG as a Super Hero who has specific steps to work. We talked about facing fears, and I gave them personal examples of my own struggles; obstacles I had to go through, over or around in order to achieve my dreams. I had to put myself and my art out there. Will people think my art is bad or not the right fit? Will people think Im weird? Will people ignore and reject me? All those things happened and thats part the journey. We talked about building confidence through trial and error and steady persistent work. Building confidence by sharing our disappointments and concerns with a team that loves and supports us! I emphasized that although painful, failing is a critical and necessary part of learning and it gives us an opportunity to make corrections! I know it hit home....I almost got more out of it than they did!...HA! Remember, in order to keep some things, you have to give them away.---BK
