ALUMNI OF THE MONTH!!!! Yes, this one deserves to be the best update for the whole month of December. Here is an excellent example of how to do everything RIGHT! The wonderful family that adopted Joe Cocker, now known as Taz, is a military family that has moved several times, faced illnesss with Taz, and even had a baby. But not once did they ever consider not being there for the dog they promised to love forever. Heres the wonderful letter I got to wake up to this morning. Patti, we just wanted to thank you so much for rescuing our boy Taz (previously known as Joe Cocker). Hes been such a great addition to our family. In fact were kinda perplexed why someone was crazy enough to get rid of him. Since Taz got us in January of 2011 hes been my buddy through multiple of Chriss business trips, and a year while Chris was deployed. He loves car rides, the dog park, and walks. In fact he became a very popular boy when we lived in Dupont he always had fun with the kids and the retirees. When we moved across country last year we had about 10 different people ask if they could have him, but we had to tell them hes family. Taz developed hypothyroidism a about 18 months ago. He became so lethargic and was gaining a lot of weight. After our 3rd trip to to vet in a few weeks he was finally diagnosed and now that hes medicated hes lost most of the weight and he is back to his old self. We had a baby a couple months ago, and have had a new slightly crazy and neurotic puppy as part of the family for the last year and hes done great with everything. Were starting another cross country move this week and cant imagine our lives without our Tazzy. Chris and I have joked that if we ever got divorced there would be a doggie custody battle. Our house is covered in fog fur and toys and we wouldnt have it any other way. P.s. sorry all his pictures he looks lethargic or stoned. He has 2 speeds, tornado or load. She then followed up with... Chris and I follow the page and the rescue. Unfortunately we are not moving back to Washington despite our best efforts. We are moving to North Carolina this week. Actually the boys were in doggie day care yesterday while the movers were packing yesterday. Were getting excited for the new house. We have a large fenced back yard that they will be able to play in. FYI Taz is currently snoring at my feet. And he is truly an amazing dog. Everyone who meets him falls in love, even my mom who is self proclaimed not a dog person volunteers to walk him when we visit. His minor medical issues and need for multiple daily meds is just part of who he is. Thank you again for rescuing him. His last family was bonkers to let him go.
