We cannot always avoid adversity, but we can open ourselves to the opportunity it provides and wrestle from its grip the victory that belongs to those who learn to work together. Our attitude, demeanor, self confidence and life-preparation determine the level of productivity we will achieve. Being comfortable in your own skin is vital for keeping conflict at bay. People who are insecure, are quick to escalate (in their mind) a small criticism into a challenge to their person. They often see resistance to an idea as an attack on themselves. Cooperative and collaborative attitudes cross the line of self interest by focusing on the vision and staying true to the mission. Even if the mission is as simple as going to lunch with a friend, you have to cooperate in the decision of where to go and who will drive.
