AM I WRONG? Friday 7:45a on Country 600 CKAT. Its a weird day today at the radio station. Today is the last time we broadcast from these studios on the overpass. Yes beginning Monday well be in our new state-of-the-art studios downtown (278 Main e). Despite the fact this building has had its challenges over the years (a leaky roof and plugged toilets), I cant help but remind myself that these are the halls travelled by the likes of funnymen Bob Wood and Peter McKeown and way back when, Mary Stillar, Tom Arens, Pete Handley, Bert Brandon, John Size and so many other broadcasters whove had a huge impact on the community. The late Garth Cooper and Clancy MacDonald spent as much time in this building as they did at home. So to whomever takes on this historic spot dont be too alarmed if you hear some ghosts rattling the halls, theyre just wondering what happened to the turntables, tape machines and microphones they grew up with. Make them feel at home and keep a radio on would you? Thanks. AM I WRONG? Andy Wilson.
