AMC would like to provide some perspective on the big motoring story of the day: 1) Fords may continue to be raced by teams beyond 2015; 2) Ford has ended its motorsport funding numerous times over the last four decades. Theyre in, theyre out, theyre in again, theyre out again... Yet, blue oval-badged cars have continued to be raced regardless of Fords official involvement; 3) Holdens funding is only guaranteed for another season or two beyond Fords - essentially to the end of the VF Commodores lifespan. Who knows after that; 4) Suggestions that Ford enthusiasts will boycott the brand are just plain ridiculous. Massive oversimplification of new car buying habits and the reasons why Aussie car manufacturing is winding up; 5) Nothing is official. In any case, back door assistance may still be provided; 6) Bathurst was only exclusively about Ford and Holden for a 20-year period. Before the mid 1990s the Great Race was for all marques. As it is again. 7) Ask yourselves how many new cars have been bought by those folk most up in arms about this big story of the day? Or are likely to be bought in the future by those really firing up?
