AMOS FIVE In partnership with The Parks Church in Melissa, TX, we created this beautiful piece. While this appears to be controversial, the heart behind Amos 5 is God speaking to the Israelites after rescuing them from captivity. God was heartbroken that they had began worshiping idols instead of God, and conveyed that to them through the mouth of Amos. This project was especially fun for us, because we had to think outside of the box on this one. We designed and constructed a huge 9.5 tall picture frame out of cedar and had the image of Mona Lisa printed on foamcore off of a 4K resolution image. This took us several days to construct, and was a blast to work with our hands on a project uncommon to our usual tasks. Chris Gifford created a 3D mockup of the design, which we used to pre-visualize the construction, and Brandon Satterfield & Chris Hatchett teamed up with him to build in the driveway in freezing cold weather. We were fortunate to have some amazingly talented artists partner with us on this project. Special thanks to TJ Markland, Erica Norwood, Tom Chapman, Audrey Deford, and Whitney Wernick. They collaborated and produced some amazing art painted on a huge sheet of glass that we were sad to have to break, but it was for a good cause! This was also specifically fun for our Creative Director, Chris Hatchett, who opted to compose the score for this project.
