AMOSUN DECEIVES IKENNE LG OVER AGRO-CARGO AIRPORT Gov Ibikunle Amosun was at Ikenne LG on Wednesday, Sept 24, 2014, on assessment tour. However, there was nothing to assess nor commission in 3 and half years of dis administration. What we witnessed that day was merely car race and roaming the roads. The people instantly compared his assessment tour wth dat of OGD and concluded dat while OGD commissioned and assessed projects on 2 assessment tours to Ikenne LG, Amosun had nothin to commission and assess. While making his speech, Amosun promised to complete and turn d Agro-Cargo Airport project started by Otunba Gbenga Daniel to a world class airport. The airport project is sited in Iperu/Ilishan Remo. I culdnt bt laugh at dis monumental deception. Dis cargo airport project was first pioneered by Ogun State. Dis is an airport project Amosun has abandoned since 2011 he assumed office. This is a project Amosun described as white elephant project in 2010/11. Dis is a project he directed its site to be turned to refuse dumping ground. Dats an insult on Remo people. Dis is a project he falsely accused OGD of spending N2bn on whereas jst mere N200m was expended so far for Presidency and Aviation bureaucratic processing, technicalities consultancy and other logistics. Private investors were engaged to undertake the project wth d govt. For 3 and years of dis administratn, Amosun refused to touch d project dat would av created over 70,000 job opportunities for thousands of youths and people. A project dat would av turned around the economy of Ijebu-Remoland and Ogun State in general. A project dat would av improved our IGR tremendously. A project dat would av aided housing development and hospitality business. A project dat would av aided massive infrastructural development. A project dat would av harnessed d states agricultural potentials among others. Why would he suddenly remember dat its a laudable project that he must complete 4 mths to election. As I write, d following states, ably supported by the FG, have either commissioned or are still constructing their own cargo airports: Akwa Ibom, Gombe, Delta and Katsina. What a shame.
